Herb and Carol Knowlton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.

They were married at St. Bernard Catholic Church on June 12, 1971 with Fr. Ignatius O’Brian officiating.

The couple has three children: Shelly (Christopher) Boyk, Laura (John) Caplis, and Mark (Chelsey) Knowlton.

Their nine grandchildren are: Hailey and Brianna Boyk; Connor, Jack and Claire Caplis; Lachlan and Lyra Knowlton; and Claire and Cate Bruski.

Herb and Carol feel so blessed to have all their children and grandchildren residing in Alpena. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary with their family.
