Talking is Teaching program Jan. 19

ALPENA – A Talking is Teaching workshop for parents and caregivers is being offered online at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

This program is hosted by the Alpena County Library and AMA ESD’s Great Start Collaborative.

Join via Zoom for a one-hour early literacy information session for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-5. In this virtual program, participants will learn about the critical role they play in their child’s early brain and language development and be provided with concrete tools to talk, read, and sing with young children from birth onward.

Registered participants will receive a ‘Talk, Read, Sing’ tote bag, which includes a book, resources, activities, and easy tips to ensure strong language and literacy skills are actively developed. Register here: https://forms.gle/ZW52qyjStsRXZ2i86

This information was previously offered in October 2020 and is being offered again for parents and caregivers who missed registering for or attending the first session.

Participants will be contacted individually about claiming their totes after the session. A link to the Zoom event will be sent in advance of the meeting on Jan. 19.
