Friends and family celebrate ‘Dylan Day’

Courtesy Photo Chelsea Watson and her cousin Brittany Rouleau along with Bev Male and Jane Male collaborated a wonderful Memorial Birthday Fundraiser in memory of Chelsea’s brother Dylan known as “Dylan Day” on what would have been his 25th birthday ­—Nov. 30, 2020. Dylan lost his battle to glioblastoma in March 2020. Chelsea and Brittany are self-taught bakers who have their delicious baked goods available to purchase at the newly opened Males Grocery located on the corner of Bolton Road and Long Rapids Road. Through the kindness of all who purchased Blue Funfetti and Double Chocolate Cupcakes (Chelsea) and Cinnamon Rolls (Brittany) plus random donations in the store and through a fund set up on Facebook, a donation of $811 was raised for Friends Together Alpena (nonprofit cancer support center servicing six counties). “We feel so blessed to make this donation in memory of Dylan,” Chelsea Watson said. “Dylan touched so many hearts and lives throughout his life. It is our mission to continue his legacy of warm generosity and kindness.
