Not everyone is cheerful and bright during the holidays. There are times when we have difficulty getting into the decorations, the music, the lights, and the sometimes forced merriment. A Blue Christmas service is for those who are sad, lonely, or mourning during this time.
This is the third year the First Presbyterian Church in Alpena has hosted a Blue Christmas service. The service includes music, with Mary Ann Hubbard on the flute and Suelyn Bartz on the piano. There is poetry reading, prayer, and a message by Rev. William Rayment.
