String members of the Alpena Symphony Orchestra, assisted by Dr. Eric Lawson's string students, will perform a holiday musical event titled "Christmas String Serenade." The public is invited to attend this performance at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Hope Lutheran Church, 5462 W. Nicholson Hill Road, Ossineke.
Traditional holiday favorites along with some light classical selections will form the program. Opening the concert will be Joel Raney's arrangement for organ and piano of "Joy to the World." The concert will end triumphantly with the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's "Messiah," arranged by Steven Kruse. Come and enjoy the rest of the music sandwiched between these Christmas classics.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public and performers alike will wear masks and be seated by ushers according to the social-distancing requirements.
It is because of COVID-19 and personal safety to performers and public that our wind players are regretfully absent from this performance. We look forward to next year.
This concert is a non-ticketed, free-of-charge event, but donations are always gratefully appreciated. The ASO is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. Please contact Andrea Arbuckle at 989-464-9586 for more information.
