Virtual craft workshop on hand lettering Dec. 8 at Alpena library

Amy Latta

The Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library and the Great Start Collaborative will host a virtual craft workshop on hand lettering from 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 8, the library said in a news release.

Join Amy Latta, the bestselling author of multiple books, including “Hand Lettering Off the Page”.

She has appeared on Hallmark’s Home and Family teaching hand lettering, and her designs have been featured nationally in Starbucks and GAP stores.

Participants in the virtual workshop will follow along (or watch) as Latta guides viewers through designing a piece of giftable art featuring a surname and floral elements.

The event is free event and no purchase is necessary to participate, but a list of supplies recommended by Latta will be provided to registered participants.

Register online at https://forms.gle/QSC5EoELE9ex6aHB6. One to two business days after registering, registrants will receive an email with further instructions regarding materials for the guided craft.

The workshop will be held via the videoconferencing software Zoom. A link to access the Zoom meeting will be sent to registered participants by Dec. 7.

Latta’s new book, “Hand Lettering Off the Page”, will be made available for check-out at the Alpena County Library and is also available for order in downtown Alpena at Parallel 45 Books and Gifts.
