VFW 2356 meeting held

Hillman VFW Post 2356 met on Nov. 5, with eight officers and a total of 11 members present.

Because of the virus, the group decided to celebrate Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11 at the VFW hall, instead of nursing homes. Veterans were encouraged to stop by for coffee and donuts.

At this time the VFW is not planning to have its Friday night fish fry, which will restart once the restrictions and 6-foot social distancing is lifted.

The VFW sells polyester 3’x5′ American flags for $25, which are made in the U.S.

A lot of clubs are having trouble getting members and some VFW Posts are closing. Any qualified veterans looking for a home are encouraged to contact the Hillman VFW.

Medical supplies are available for loan. Call Marv at 989-255-2072 or Wayne at 989-255-4412.

For Post hall rentals, please call Bob Hunt at 989-657-1162.

The next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3.
