On Friday, the Alpena Lions Club, in concert with The Alpena News and Salvation Army, will be holding the “Old Newsboys” fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Perch’s IGA and the former Habitat for Humanity site at Chisholm and 5th Avenue. Spoof papers have been printed and will be on sale to raise funds for the Salvation Army. The proceeds from this fundraiser go to Alpena’s Salvation Army to support their mission.

On Saturday, the Lions will be at Perch’s IGA and the former Habitat for Humanity site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will also be at the Alpena Farmer’s Market on Saturday.

This event is spearheaded by Randy Boboltz and Gary Stevens of the Alpena Lions Club. Any additional questions may be directed to them. Event organizers thank you in advance for your support.

Organizers appreciate the use of the Habitat for Humanity site and support all the efforts Habitat has been making for the community since the ReStore building burned down last year, Boboltz said.
