ALPENA — Representatives from Northland Area Federal Credit Union recently stopped by the Alpena Veterans of Foreign Wars to donate $2,000 to The VFW Post 2496.

“This money will help the post tremendously to put towards some needed repairs in the heating system” said Doug Hayka of the VFW.

Northland supports several Veteran organizations in its field of membership.

“Northland Area Federal Credit Union started off on Wurtsmith Air Force Base, so our connection to veterans are strong and Northland continues to be an advocate of veteran needs in our communities” said President and CEO Pete Dzuris.

Northland is nearing the final stages of construction on its new Bagley Street headquarters in Alpena. Once completed, the headquarters will transition its Oscoda headquarters into Alpena while still maintaining a large presence in Oscoda with a branch remaining there and employing several departments.

Northland has assets of over a $500 million dollars, over 49,000 members and 15 branches in Northeast Michigan.
