TBT summer programs in full swing

ALPENA — Thunder Bay Theatre is proud to announce two brand new programs launching this week. Summer Audition Workshops for teens and Private/Small Group Ballroom Dancing Sessions will be taking place in the theatre’s lobby space.

The Audition Workshops will be split into two groups: junior high school and high school levels. Each segment is designed to help students learn the basics of an audition and prepare them for different types of auditions that they will encounter. Students will go over everything from how to choose pieces for an audition package to what to do when you get into the rehearsal room, and everything in between. The junior high group will learn proper audition practices for a high school audition, and the high school group will become familiar with what to do for an audition for a college production and even for a BFA program.

For the Ballroom Dancing Sessions, participants can choose from several different styles including Mambo, Bachata, East and West Coast Swing, among others. Participants will cover the basic footwork/steps that make up the fundamentals of each style and learn how to apply them with different songs, tempos, etc.

Both programs will be held in the TBT lobby and will be taught by TBT Artistic Director Lucas Moquin. Face masks will be required while indoors or outside when six feet social distancing cannot be practiced. The theatre will be adhering to all CDC guidelines.

Pricing and enrollment information can be found at thunderbaytheatre.com. Please email Moquin at artsticdirector@thunderbaytheatre.com with any questions.
