Northland Area Federal Credit Union has earned the distinguished Outstanding Credit Union of the Year — Large Asset Size Award — for this year’s 2020 Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) Awards and the Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) Awards.

Collectively, the MCUL and MCUF awards recognize credit unions, professionals and volunteers for exemplary efforts in areas including individual and organizational leadership, operational effectiveness, community service, and financial education. Award winners are recognized for continually seeking out new ideas and innovations that make our state a better place for members and staff and truly live by the standard of “People Helping People.” MCUL and MCUF Award winners embody the credit union difference.

The Outstanding Credit Union of the Year Award recognizes a credit union for outstanding contributions with member services and community engagement.

“This award is also a recognition of the tremendous effort our team at Northland places on treating our members with dedication and respect. Our members are the reason for our consistent growth and success in our area of business. I especially want to thank our volunteers and employees for their hard work and dedication to Northland,” Northland President and CEO Pete Dzuris said.

Northland Area Federal Credit Union is a not for profit financial cooperative with 15 branches in Northeast Michigan and 50,000 members. Northland is currently building their new headquarters on Bagley St. in Alpena with completion now expected this fall.
