ALL programs this week

This week’s Association of Lifelong Learners programs begin today. Here is the week’s schedule.

These programs are open to the public. Just send an email to ALL@alpenacc.edu to receive connection information, if not listed below.

Online programs

Monday at 2 p.m. — “Line Dancing”

Debbie Kerr has been teaching line dancing classes for six years — four years for the ALL group. With the stay-at-home orders, she has switched to teaching virtual classes. If you have been dancing for years or would like to give line dancing a try, this is the class for you. Wear some comfortable shoes and have a water bottle nearby and tune in for this class.

Tuesday at 11 a.m. — “ALL Program Development”

You are invited to make suggestions or volunteer for online programs or future in-person programs. We are a volunteer based nonprofit looking for educational programs. Programs may be based on your experiences, research or connections to other organizations. Join us in the search for Lifelong Learning opportunities.

Wednesday at 11 a.m. — “Meet the New Alpena Public Schools Superintendent”

Susan Wooden is ready for the “most challenging time of her career.” As she takes over as superintendent of Alpena Public Schools she will have much on her agenda. At the top of the list is a plan on how staff and students will return to school in the fall. In this Zoom presentation Susan will discuss this and some of the other work that lies ahead.

Wooden is a veteran superintendent who retired from the Beaverton Schools a little over a year ago. She has a combined 31 years as an administrator. Included in her resume is one year of teaching English at ACC. With her husband, Russell, they have decided to make Alpena their retirement home.

Wednesday at 7 p.m. — “India 2020: Old Friends, New Projects in Western India”

Visit hundreds of wonderful kids and their creative mentors in Gujarat, Delhi and Dehradun. Meet some special professors with insights on school inclusion. We hope to see you there.

Nancy and Mark Kinney have visited a number of places in the world and are longtime ALL members and program presenters.

In-person programs
