The Founders Society of the Besser Museum Book Club meets at 11:30 a.m. today for lunch and discussion at the 19th Hole. The book is “The Red Address Book,” by Sophia Lundberg. You need not be a Founder to attend.
Orphan Grain Train Friday
Join Immanuel Lutheran students and retired pastor David Reed in helping pack 500 hygiene kits for the Orphan Grain Train program, starting at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. A luncheon will follow. RSVP to the Thrivent office by calling 989-356-1330.
Red Kettle kickoff Friday
The Salvation Army is kicking off its annual Red Kettle Christmas campaign from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Neiman’s Family Market, where the Salvation Army Canteen will be on-site with coffee and hot chocolate. Tim Hart, who has become a staple for the Christmas season in Alpena, will be at the event.
Chris and Lee LIVE Friday
Chris Crown and Lee Kitzman will bring home the blues live from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday in Thunder Bay Winery’s tasting room at 109 N. 2nd Ave. in Alpena.
Bryan McCree to perform
Comedian Bryan McCree will perform at the APlex Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m. with music by Tim St. John. Flint native McCree will take the stage from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 or by donation. Call 989-354-6164 with questions.
