Reunion Roundup

Donnan 67th family reunion held at Wilson Hall

The descedants of James and Eva Donnan gathered at Wilson Township Hall on Aug. 4.

James Donnan was born in Rosedene, Canada, and his wife Eva Makalski was born in Baltimore, Md.

James and Eva Donnan homesteaded in Wilson Township for 50 years, raising 11 of the 15 children there. James and Eva were married 57 years until the time of his death. Many memories, both happy and sad, remain of all who lived or visited there.

There were 24 cousins at the reunion, to remember and reminisce with, about all their families.

The highlight of the reunion was a picture of James, Eva and all 11 children on display. Family members had fun trying to name each one in the picture.

Pat Cadarette gave the blessing for the potluck dinner, with a variety of homemade dishes. The tables were adorned with fresh garden flowers in jars.

Gary Lancaster presided over a short meeting. Betty Gehrke gave a treasurer’s report.
