45th Annual Harmony Festival in Harrisville this weekend
HARRISVILLE — Labor Day weekend is always hopping in Harrisville, with the Harmony Festival Arts & Crafts Show, now in its 45th year.
Presented by the Harrisville Arts Council, the juried arts and crafts festival includes more than 300 vendor exhibits, food, activities, a chalk drawing contest, live music and an old-fashioned parade.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on the corner of U.S.-23 and M-72.
Saturday’s events include a children’s art activity and chalk drawing contest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the tennis courts with cash prizes awarded later in the day.
“Harmony on the Hill” is the new name of the annual gathering of a capella singers on the hill beside the courthouse, featuring Sweet Adelines and Barbershoppers. Local musicians will play live music during the festival. The Sweet Adelines will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at Mariah Hall.
An old-fashioned parade will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, coordinated by Ryan Mendyka.
