SUNRISE SIDE BULLETIN BOARD

Aid by the Dozen met

The June meeting of the Aid by the Dozen was hosted by Kay Ross at the China Buffet. After an enjoyable dinner the meeting was called by President Catherine Murphy.

The monthy donation was sent to a local child. Cards were sent and the members did a catch-up.

The cake auction winners were Lori Zeller, Ross, Donna Anderson and Marlene Monti. The hostess gift was taken by Chris Dubey. The secret pal gifts appeared to be summer-themed. Receiving surprises were Dubey, Zeller, Geri Skiba, Carol Kelly, Leora Jacobs, and Catherine and Joyce Murphy.

Prior to leaving, Ross presented the group with ladybug fly swatters, a summer neccessity. The July meeting will take place at the home of Joyce Murphy, the group’s sunshine lady.

Golden Agers to meet

Major Kevin Cedervall gave the devotions and table prayer when the Golden Agers held their monthly meeting on June 14. Card bingo was played and enjoyed. Guests in attendance were Mary Avery and her friend.

The next meeting will be on July 12 at Starlite Beach at the pavillion. Hot dogs will be furnished. You live in Michigan so bring a jacket.

Bridge winners noted

Alpena Duplicate Bridge winners this week were Gayle Nowak and Deanna Brege in first, Beverley Rousseau and Marcy Sherman in second, and Fred Woolman and Eve Phillips in third.

The group meets at 12:45 p.m. Mondays at First United Methodist Church on the corner of First and Ripley in Alpena.
