The community is invited to a worship service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 119 W. Dunbar St., to recognize the “LARC Covenant” signed by the Evangelical Lutheran (L), Anglican Episcopal (A), and Roman Catholic (RC) bishops in Northern Michigan in 2000. For 19 years, Alpena’s LARC churches have done joint programming and ecumenical activities such as this worship service, which will include participation from St. Paul Lutheran, First Congregational UCC, Trinity Episcopal, and All Saints Catholic as well as Grace Lutheran. David Delano will direct a combined choir. There will be a soup supper at 6 p.m. open to the public for fellowship prior to the service.
