ALPENA — Head down to Thunder Bowl Lanes Friday night for a howling good time at Moon Doggy Glow Bowling: Huron Humane Society Fur Bowl.

Bowling will take place in two sessions with check-in at either 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. bowling, or 8 p.m. check-in for the 8:30 p.m. bowling. The cost is $10 per bowler, which includes two games, shoes and pizza. Getting donations increases your chances of winning prizes.

“For the best chance of winning, ask friends and family for donations to pad your handicap,” said event organizer Ellen Eagan. “One dollar equals one point.”

This won’t necessarily be a test of skill, but of generosity and determination to get the most donations.

“So you could be an absolutely terrible bowler and still get a perfect score,” she said with a chuckle.

Prizes will be awarded to the bowlers with the top three highest scores.

The event will include a silent auction with valuable prizes including a tour for up to 10 people at Anschuetz Whitetail Way.
