Betty Bea Washburn class reset for June 22 at Art in the Loft

Watercolor Waterfalls with Betty Bea Washburn has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Art in the Loft. It was originally planned for this weekend.

The cost is $110 per student. Scholarships are available. Call 989-356-4877 or visit www.artintheloft.org.

Washburn is a graduate of the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in art and education, and Western Michigan University with a master’s degree in education.

She is a retired public school art teacher, a veteran of 33 years. Washburn began painting professionally in 1979 and has paintings placed in both public and private domains. Most notably her work comprises the entire collection of the Southwestern Michigan Rehabilitation Center in Battle Creek – 70 paintings and a mural. Thirty paintings are part of the permanent collection of Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. The artist enjoys sharing her watercolor experience with adult students while continuing to paint for gallery collections.

“My goal is to infuse the paintings with energy the remains within the work long after the brush had been lifted from the paper,” Washburn said in a press release.
