Alpha Xi members attend convention on Mackinac Island

Alpha Kappa Gamma International, Alpha Iota State, held its state convention on Mackinac Island at the Grand Hotel May 3-5, 2019. Eight members of the local chapter, Alpha Xi, were in attendance.

The weekend was filled with educational workshops and speakers, including a former Michigan Teacher of the Year, Dr. June Teisan and international guest, Becky Sadowski, from Tennessee.

Nancy Everett, Alpha Xi chapter, has served as state president for the past two years, and presided over the weekend events.

A highlight of the evening banquet was the Distinguished Service Award presented to Bronwyn Woolman who had recently received the Friend of Education award from the local chapter.

Delta Kappa Gamma is an international organization of women teachers dedicated to promoting education throughout the world.
