Caregiver course starts May 16

Feeling stretched as a caregiver? A six-week course is offered to help caregivers learn how to take care of themselves while still providing quality care.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series that helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.

Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Two experienced class leaders conduct the series (many are experienced caregivers themselves, who have successfully applied the techniques they teach). Interactive lessons, discussions, and brainstorming will be offered. Classes will be 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursdays at NEMCSA Annex Building, 2569 U.S.-23 in Alpena.Sessions begin on May 16, and run through June 20.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.

For more information or to register, contact Brooke Mainville at 989.358.4616 or mainvilleb@nemcsa.org.
