Zonta Club of Alpena will be awarding seven scholarships totaling $4,850 for the 2019/2020 academic year to deserving area women, Diane O’Connor, chair of the scholarship committee, has announced.

The following scholarships are available:

¯ Young Women in Public Affairs Award offers a $550 scholarship and is available to an Alpena High School senior in recognition of her leadership in public policy, government and volunteer organizations. Scholarship applications are available at AHS Career Resource Center or www.alpenazonta.com. The deadline is March 1.

¯ Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship provides a $550 award to an area woman enrolled in her third or fourth year of an undergraduate business program. The deadline for this scholarship is May 1, and applications will be available at www.zonta.orgor www.alpenazonta.com. Contact O’Connor at 989-358-7333 for more information.

¯ Zonta Club of Alpena-Non-Traditional Student Scholarship will provide a $750 scholarship to two women who have been out of high school for at least five years. Applicants must be a high school graduate or have received their GED, a resident of Alpena County and enrolled full-time at Alpena Community College. The deadline for this scholarship is March 11. The application is available on the Zonta Club of Alpena website, www.alpenazonta.com, or at the Alpena Community College Foundation Office (Besser Technical Center-125) or at discover.alpenacc.edu.

¯ Zonta Club of Alpena-Alpena High School Student Scholarship will provide a $750 award to two AHS senior women who will be attending ACC on a full-time basis following high school graduation. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required, as well as participation in extra curricular, community and service activities. The deadline for this scholarship is March 11. Applications are available at the ACC Foundation Office or at discover.alpenacc.edu, at the AHS Career Resource Center, or at the Zonta Club of Alpena website, www.alpenazonta.com

¯ Zonta Club of Alpena-Alpena High School Student Scholarship will provide a $750 award to an AHS senior woman who will be attending college (four years) on a full-time basis following high school graduation. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required, as well as participation in extracurricular, community and service activities. The deadline is March 11. Applications are available at the AHS Career Resource Center or at the Zonta Club of Alpena website, www.alpenazonta.com.
