Rabbi Returns to Temple Beth-El

This weekend, Guest Rabbi Reuven Silverman, from Temple Israel in Deland, Fla., returns to Alpena.

Rabbi Silverman will lead the service at Temple Beth-El at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Then from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, he will lead Music and “Midrash” (Songs and Stories from the Talmud).

Rabbi Silverman services 50 families at Temple Israel.

In addition to his work as a Temple Rabbi, he also provides Bar/Bat Mitzvah instruction and Adult Education. He is a graduate of University of Illinois and received his ordination from New York Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute.

This program is free and open to the public. It is funded in part through the generosity of the Ravitz Foundation and Temple Beth-El members. Donations are welcome.

The Temple is at 125 E. White Street in Alpena. Seating is limited. The Temple encourages all who would like to participate in this event to call 989-595-3544 for more information.

Doors will be open shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
