Taking advantage of a free student membership offer, Isabel Luther recently joined the League of Women Voters of Alpena County. She is a 2018 graduate of Alpena High School and has a passion for politics.

The league waives membership dues for 16 to 25-year-old students enrolled part or full-time in an accredited school.

The league believes that eliminating student membership dues will make it easier for students to join the league.

The hope is that encouraging students to join will bring in new and active members. This is especially critical at a time when students are eager to be involved in the political process.
