Aaron Skiba to receive doctorate from U of M in aerospace engineering

On May 4, at the University of Michigan, Dr. Aaron William Skiba presented his dissertation and successfully defended his thesis entitled: On the Structure of Premixed Flames Subjected to Extreme Levels of Turbulence. He will be granted his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering on Aug. 18.

Skiba’s research involves applying advanced laser-based imaging diagnostics to highly-turbulent flames, which will ultimately facilitate design and development of more efficient energy production and propulsion engines.

During his studies and research at the University of Michigan, previous to his Ph.D., Skiba received a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering after first attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. He has been granted a post-doctoral position at the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, U.K., where he will continue to research the fundamental aspects of turbulent combustion.
