Hillman varsity girls fall to Hale

HILLMAN — The Hillman girl’s varsity basketball team improved its record to 4-4 overall on Tuesday following a 77-40 loss to a high-scoring Hale Eagles at home. The result moves the Tigers to 1-3 in North Star League (NSL) Little Dipper play. Despite the tough outcome, the Tigers saw strong individual performances across the board. Madelyn Oswald led the way for Hillman, finishing with 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists. The Hillman boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Johannesburg-Lewiston on Saturday and secured a 56-39 victory on the road over the Cardinals. The win improves the Tigers’ record to 9-1, while the cardinals drop to 0-9. Hillman battled foul trouble and a sluggish start as three of its five starters would sit out the second quarter and Hillman was outscored to 17-10.
