Carla McCracken Sork, 81, of Alpena passed from the land of the dying to the land of the living on Sept. 18, 2022. Carla was born Dec. 29, 1940, in Grampian, Pennsylvania to Ernest and Mary (Pentz) McCracken. She moved to Anderson, Indiana to attend Anderson College. She met and married Guy Sork Nov. 25, 1960, and together they had three children. Her entire working career was in the medical field, starting with the Middletown, IN EMT Services. WIRGAU, Duane Alan, 62, of Hawks, died at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw on Sept. 19, 2022 following a brief illness. Brad Lee Birmingham, 65, of Alpena passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, after a two-year battle with cancer. Brad was born Oct. 19, 1956, in Rogers City to Wayne and Nancy (Wirgau) Birmingham. He married Janine Powers. He and Janine celebrated 45 years of marriage on Aug. 6, 2022. Brad enjoyed sports as a lifelong athlete, coach, and proud owner of two 300 rings. Keith Stanley Titus, 83, of Alpena, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, at home. Keith was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Cheboygan, Michigan to the late Carl and Valborg (Keldsen) Titus. On Nov. 11, 1982, he married Virginia Tacchino. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2021. After graduating from his Master’s program at CMU, he worked in Cadillac, Michigan in radio and founded the Cadillac Footliters, a community theatre which is still in operation.
