FARIS, Diane Geralyn, 65, of Grand Lake, died on Oct. 28, 2022 at MyMichigan Health Alpena. Diane is survived by a sister, Janet Salas; two brothers, Michael (Peggy) Schaffer and Henry Schaffer; and her very good friends, Nancy and Richard Sitar. No services are planned at this time. John Alfred March, 83, of Lachine passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at home. John was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Flint, Michigan to the late Irvin and Agnes (Coutcher) March. He served in the United States Army. On Nov. 12, 1982, he married Ann Nickodemus. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and golfing. Clements Modrzynski, 92, of Alpena passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022. Clements was born Feb. 26, 1930, in Rogers City to Stanley and Frances (Romel) Modrzynski. He was the fourth oldest of 12 children. Clem married his childhood sweetheart Eleanor Rita Zielaskowski on Jan. 6, 1951, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Rogers City. They were married for 62 years before her death on Dec. 18, 2013. He obtained his sailing card at age 16 and went to work on the Great Lakes freighters. Victoria Toombs, 80 of Alpena passed away on Oct. 30, 2022. Vicki was born to Victor and Leona Snyder (Grinnell) on Nov. 24, 1941, in Missaukee County. She was the oldest of five girls and one half-brother. Vicki lived many years with terrible heartbreak. Before she even turned 30, three of her children, aged 3,5,6, passed away in a house fire. The infant she saved later passed away from breast cancer at age 34. Even though she had so much heartbreak in her life she was the most wonderful person you could ever meet.
