Pastor Smith was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on Aug. 25, 1925; the second of 13 children born to Dale Isaac Smith and Lucy Mendenhall Smith. Charles Edward Kennedy, 68, of Alpena, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at his home. He was a kind, caring, and compassionate man that will be dearly missed. Charles was born on Oct. 2, 1953 to the late George and Phyllis (Page) Kennedy in Alpena. Trudy (Gertrude) Stuber, 99, passed away June 29, 2022. She was born Oct. 31, 1922 to the late Reverend Herman and Dorothea Brietzke, in Oberlin, Michigan. Trudy graduated from Central Michigan University with her teaching certificate. In 1944, during WWII, she was recruited by the Department of Defense to help decode Japanese transmissions. She accepted the challenge and moved to Washington D.C. When she returned to Michigan, she met and married the love of her life Ken Stuber. Richard Arlie Werle Jr. passed away Tuesday July 19, 2022, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. Dick was born to the late Richard and Elizabeth Werle on Aug. 11, 1943, in Manistee Michigan. He Graduated from Onekama High School in 1961 and enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17. He served on the USS Howard W Gilmore and was stationed in Charleston, South Carolina where he worked on the submarine tender and was active during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He is survived by his son, Charles (Shannon), two grandchildren, Ryley, and Gavin, and three sisters, Bonnie (Nate Wojda) Duby, Diane Kennedy (Chuck Kus), and Janet (Ken) Burton. Family will receive friends for memorial visitation at New Life Christian Fellowship on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11a.m. with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating.
