DTE running turbine project

PINE RIVER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — DTE Energy says it’s flipped the switch on a 65-turbine wind project in central Michigan.
The utility announced Friday that the Pine River wind park in Gratiot and Isabella counties is running and can provide enough electricity for more than 54,000 homes.
DTE says it will generate enough energy from renewable sources to serve 800,000 homes by 2022. It plans to spend an additional $2 billion in renewable energy over the next five years, more than doubling capacity in wind and solar. In a written statement, DTE describes Pine River as the largest operating wind project in Michigan.
