Native Aaron Golbeck painting another mural in Alpena this week

News Photo by Darby Hinkley Alpena native Aaron Golbeck starts his mural on the side of Shalla's Market in Alpena. He will be working on it all week.

ALPENA — The talented muralist Aaron Golbeck is back in town this week, painting another mural, this time on the side of Shalla’s Market at 326 Long Lake Ave. in Alpena.

Golbeck, 27, is a 2012 graduate of Alpena High School, and he grew up on Alpena’s north side, near McRae Park. He now travels the country in a van, painting murals all over, with his most visited places being Denver, Colorado, Alpena, and North Carolina.

Golbeck has painted three other murals in Alpena so far — the owl and girl on the side of Family Enterprise, the hippie at Hungry Hippie, and a new mural inside Red Brick Tap & Barrel.
