Alpena athletes chosen for Wall of Fame

News Photo by Jonny Zawacki Alpena High School inducted its 2019 members to the Alpena High School Wall of Fame on Friday during halftime of the boys varsity basketball game at Alpena High School. 2019 inductees include: Kevin Dault (2008, pictured right): a Big North Conference heavyweight champ in 2007 and 2008, all-state heavyweight in 2008 and team MVP in 2008 as a wrestler; Austin Leeck (2011, pictured left): two time BNC first team in baseball, all-district baseball in 2009, offensive MVP in 2009 and 2011, BNC Player of the Year in 2011 and team MVP in 2011. Second team all-state outfielder in 2011 and Near-Far All-Star Game selection in 2011. Football: First team BNC in 2009 and 2010, second team BNC in 2008, offsensive MVP in 2010, three time All Area Alpena News selection and holds record for most points and most touchdowns in a career. Taylor Stepanski (2012): cross country all-state in 2010, all-BNC in 2011. Track: all-BNC 2011, all-state relay, 4x 400, 4 x 800 in 2012, school record for 800 meter run in 2012, school record 4 x400 relay and 4x 800 relay in 2012 and a five time All-American at Saginaw Valley State University from 2012-2017. The Class of 2012 4 x 400 relay team (Emily Duncan, Emily McAnsh, Paige Stepanski, Taylor Stepanski) Division I all-state, fourth place with time of 3:59. Class of 2012 4 x 800 relay team (Amanda Dort, Kelsey Lewis, Emily McAnsh, Taylor Stepanski) Division I all-state, eighth place with time of 9:22.
