Julie Ann James, age 60, passed away June 5, 2014, at Community Hospice of Washington, Washington, D.C. She was born Sept. 23, 1953, to Harley and Patricia (Stewart) James in Alpena, Mich.
Julie graduated from Hillman High School in 1971. Following graduation she moved to Maryland where she was employed with the Federal Government at the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority. Julie continued her education at Prince George College. She received many awards throughout her career for her achievement, dedicated service and outstanding performance. Julie retired in 2005 as Coordinator, Systems Operations after 30-plus years of service.
She will be deeply missed by her brother Harley (Debbie) James of Hillman; her three sisters: Nancy of Maryland, Marjory (Darwin) Kenyon and Susan (Dan) Painter of Hillman. She will be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Ira (Butch Welch) and her niece, Christyn Painter.
Per her wishes, a memorial service at Calvary Episcopal Church in Hillman will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Gravesides services will immediately follow at Hillman-Rust Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the Calvary Episcopal Church.
