I read with interest the article about a town in New York that is being sued for banning talk of fracking at their town meetings. It must be a pretty controversial issue to have so many people taking up so much of their elected officials time, the salaries of whom are being paid by the talkers.
Apparently new fracking leases are being considered in much of the area around northern Michigan to drill for natural gas and oil in the Collingwood shale. It is my hope that the media will provide fair and balanced coverage of the potential benefits and risks of fracking and encourage Michiganders to talk as much as they need to about the topic. I suggest that readers check out this article and then plan to attend the next local government meeting to get the discussion going around here. now.tufts.edu/articles/fracking-pro-and-con
