ALPENA - The Alpena FFA has officially kicked off its annual fruit and nut sale, which adviser Melissa Smith said is the organizations biggest annual fundraiser.
"We've been doing a fruit sale every year, for many years. It's our biggest fundraiser for the year," She said.
According to Smith, the 65 Alpena High School FFA members, will be selling fruits and nuts individually within the community through Nov. 26. Students will be selling citrus fruits, Washington apples, mixed fruit and gift boxes, nuts, and candies at box and half box prices.
"This is really our only fundraiser of the year, we're dependent on community support," she said. "All of our proceeds will go to send students to FFA activities, locally and statewide."
Smith said funding from the sale also will be used for FFA students to participate in contests, conferences, and conventions, along with helping with traveling costs and materials.
