Ashley Ann Skiera and Andrew Gordon Simpson exchanged their wedding vows June 2, 2012 at the Grand Lake Community Chapel in Presque Isle. Rev. Robert Case officiated the 1:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride in the daughter of Christopher and Roxanne Skiera of Lachine, and Renae and Richard Standen of Posen. The groom is the son of Peter and Nancy Simpson of Lansing, and Patricia McDougall of Goleta, Calif.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her cousin, Bre-Anna DeCare. Bridesmaids were Jacqueline Hull, cousin of the bride; Tara Rondeau, friend of the bride; Amanda Derry, friend of the bride; and Courtney Gagnon, friend of the bride and groom. The flower girl was Alexis Skiera, niece of the bride.

Attending the groom as best man was Tim Lamp, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Aaron Kasuzbowski, Matt Frantz, Drew Tarkington and Eric Pernie, all friends of the groom. The ring bearer was Dillan Gagnon, son of friends of the bride and groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception in the honor of the newlyweds was held at the APlex in Alpena.

Ashley is a 2004 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2008 graduate of Lake Superior State University. She is employed by the Michigan State Police. Andrew is a 2001 graduate of Alpena High School and is employed by PMI.

The couple took a honeymoon to Lake Gogebic in the western Upper Peninsula for a week of fishing. They are residing in Alpena.
