Lauren R. Pollard and Travis E. Bowen exchanged their wedding vows Aug. 18, 2012 at the Old Lighthouse in Presque Isle. Their worship pastor, Wil Weatherhead from Crossroads Bible Church in Grand Rapids, officiated the 4:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Donna Pollard of Alpena. The groom is the son of Peggy Ortwine of Brighton and Craig Bowen of Elk Rapids.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Britton Smith. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Bronson, Molly Bordeau, Kelsey Rech, Allison Pew and Missy Mora, friends of the bride. Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Joshua Bowen. Groomsmen were Daniel Andres, Jamin Littell, Joshua Rech, Joseph Grit and Rob Schaftenaar, friends of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at St. Anne's Parish Hall in Alpena.
Lauren is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and is employed by Forest Hills Schools in Grand Rapids. Travis is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and currently working toward his doctorate of Physical Therapy. He is employed by Spectrum Health.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Mexico and reside in Grand Rapids.
