Selena Owens addresses a crowd of about 60 people at a “Rebuild America — Defeat Obama” rally at the Alpena County Fairgrounds Friday. The author of a book on conservative women addressed the audience about the “war on women,” an alleged attempt by conservative lawmakers to roll back women’s rights, which she called a myth put forth by critics of the Republican Party. Hers was one of many topics touched on at the rally, including the lack of jobs and how the policies of the Obama administration have hurt the nation. The rally included songs from Diana Nagy, who also spoke about defending Christian and other religious values from what she and others see as an attack from the Obama administration. Alpena was one of 72 cities visited by the tour, according to a release.
