Two Fraser men died in two separate accidents in Alcona County Friday and Saturday, both of which involved off-road vehicles, according to police.

The first happened Friday afternoon when a 47-year-old man died after being thrown from his ORV and struck by another in Lost Lake Woods Club, according to Alcona County sheriff's deputies.

Adam Schwab was riding an ORV with his 23-year-old son, Scott, at around 5 p.m. when he left the trail. Adam was ejected from his ORV after it began to roll over, and was hit by his son's ORV, sheriff's deputies said.

Sheriff's deputies said Adam Schwab was pronounced dead at the scene, and Scott was taken by Alcona County EMS to Alpena Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

The accident is still being investigated. Alcona Township firefighters also assisted at the scene.

The second happened Saturday evening when William Weir, 66, died in an accident involving a modified side-by-side ORV he was driving and an SUV, according to Oscoda Township police. It happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Chambers and Kokoshing roads.

Weir was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Three others who were riding the ATV were hospitalized, two going to St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas and the third being airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, police said. The third was listed in serious but stable condition as of Sunday.

The Oscoda Area EMS, Iosco County EMS and Sheiff's Department, and the United States Forest Service assisted at the scene.
