Now is the time to be grateful for healthcare workers, EMS professionals

Last year and earlier this year we watched as hospital, healthcare workers and EMS professionals responded to surges of COVID around the country. It was powerful to witness the cheering for healthcare workers in major cities as they struggled day after day to save lives.

For the Alpena region, that moment has come. Our COVID numbers have never been higher and our health care system has never been more stressed by surges in cases coupled with staffing shortages.

This is our moment to express gratitude to the selfless nurses, techs, doctors, mid-levels, paramedics, EMTs and allied health care professionals and other workers who are working their hardest for our community. I am grateful for all you are doing to help so many.
