Please come to the town hall at Alpena High School beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3, with an open mind and a willingness to listen politely to viewpoints other than the ones you have been developing and cultivating in the months since the pandemic began.

Please be prepared to share your ideas, opinions, feelings, beliefs, and knowledge in a positive way.

Please avoid belittling, critical, or negative comments.

Please practice active listening skills, paying attention to what each speaker is saying, rather than blocking it out so you can plan what to say when it’s your turn to speak.

Please consider the future of all individuals in the school district, regardless of their age, gender, marital status, racial/ethnic history, education, income level, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or party affiliation.

Please be mindful that Alpena Public Schools faculty and staff work to prepare graduates to be successful anywhere — locally, in Michigan, throughout the United States, and anywhere in the world.
