Ever since I could vote in a presidential election I have.

Up until now, my candidate was defeated.

Every candidate I voted for graciously conceded because this is a democracy and the right to vote its most sacred institution.

What I’m watching unfold in this country, perpetrated by the president and condoned by 16 attorneys general of various states and nearly two-thirds of House Republicans, is to subvert the will of the people, our voice, our vote.

These representatives were elected by the same process they seek to undermine and now claim unfair because the president can’t accept the results. In this election we encouraged people to exercise their right to vote, many for the first time. What are we saying to these people now? That your voice doesn’t matter? That if you don’t like the results, sue? No conspiracies and no proof, except the millions of ballots cast. It’s time to honor those ballots. It’s time to honor those results. It’s time to show the world how truly great our democracy is. Mr. President … It’s time to concede.
