Whether you’re a Republican, a Democrat, an independent, or other, those designations mean something; even having no political affiliation (NPA) is a title that means something. Those claiming to be affiliated with one party, even though they have more in common with another, just to get elected should be ashamed of themselves.

As a citizen of Alcona County, I am sick of these half-truths and dare I say lies. Never-Trumpers, taxing and spending, creating instant criminals with mandates — these are the things that make a RINO (Republican in Name Only). It is with that premise I will call someone out.

William Thompson has all but officially been endorsed by the Alcona County Democratic Party and he is promoting Kevin Boyat, a Democrat running for commissioner (at least Kevin knows he’s a Democrat and doesn’t try to hide it). His previous voting pattern indicates a left leaning approach to spending, rules and regulations. In my opinion, that indicates he is not a Republican and is merely using the R to game the system and the voters in District 2.

I’m tired of the abuse of party affiliation at the local, state, and national level. I feel as though the Democrats have been infiltrating the Republican Party. They pay lip-service to those who will listen; promise one thing but do something else.

I don’t always agree with my true elected Republicans, but overall, these are people I trust and can work with. William Thompson has showed no interest in the Republican Party and, IMO, is NOT deserving of anyone’s vote. Run as an Independent or NPA but stop trying to play both sides.
