I write to express my most sincere, heartfelt appreciation for the professional, courteous and calming manner of the Alpena Township emergency medical technicians in addressing an incident at my home on March 20.

Without going into the embarrassing details, four EMTs arrived within five minutes after we called, they assessed the situation, including my status, and involved me in the resolution of a situation of my own making.

More than anything else, they made me feel secure in knowing they would return things to normal, that the situation was not anything they had not seen before, and that I need not be embarrassed (this last part, alas, is impossible.)

I cannot speak highly enough about the EMTs who treated me like a human being, not a homunculus. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
