Don’t hurt anyone, especially our children

This is not a “Letter to the Editor,” or to any of the good people who read the Alpena News. Rather, it is a letter aimed at all those people who would be customers of human traffickers.

Human trafficking is a relatively polite term that is nothing less than slavery, torture, forced drug use leading to addiction, and sexual abuse of many young people, especially children. Forced drug use and addiction is a way traffickers control their slaves.

Christians do a beautiful job of contemplating the wounds and the suffering of Christ, especially during this past Lent. We must also consider, contemplate, and try to stop the great pain and suffering that our innocent young endure in trying to satisfy the selfishness of others, who are so much more powerful than they. We must cry over their stations of their crosses, as well.

When you venture into the world of pornography, especially child pornography, you contribute to human trafficking You are closer to being a direct customer, paying money to satisfy your own selfishness, and at the same time torturing a child and contributing to their drug addiction. You must stop the destruction of children’s lives and your own. You must stop profiting those involved in unspeakable acts of painful slavery. Seek help for your own addiction instead.
