Creativity abounds in NE Michigan

We believe Alpena and Northeast Michigan bursts at the seams when it comes to the arts.

For an Up North region, the cultural “vibe” overflows with rich experiences and talent.

Evidence of that is what will happen tonight as Alpena Art Walk 2019 runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

During that time, five different art galleries will be open downtown so residents and guests can visit and enjoy the creative talent of local artists. Some of those artists will be in attendance, as well, to talk about their works and answer questions.

Light refreshments and outdoor music also will be part of the festivities today.

And this is only the beginning of this exciting event this summer. The walk will continue through September on the final Friday of each month.

All the galleries will be filled with wonderful works. Everything from photography to woodworking, paintings to pottery, and glasswork to sculptures can be found throughout town. The galleries participating are Forty Five North Art Gallery, Art in the Loft, My Glass Wings, Studio Rubedo and Thunder Bay Arts Council Gallery.

Stop by and enjoy the creativity that abounds in the region.
