Job well done to reach United Way goal

Congratulations Bruce Anschuetz and Jamie Anschuetz-Gohlke for leading the charge on a successful 2015-16 United Way Campaign.

Even more importantly, congratulations to each of you who donated for helping the organization reach its $200,000 goal.

Thanks to your efforts 15 Northeast Michigan nonprofits will receive their allocations, as determined by United Way board members utilizing recommendations from allocations review panels last year. This is the first time in many years a campaign has ended fully funded.

“Jamie and I could not be happier about making the goal,” Anschuetz said. “The citizens in our community are what it is all about. They understand that when there is a need for assistance they give from their hearts.”

We are thrilled with the generosity of area residents.

In our estimation the beauty of the United Way is that is serves Alpena, Alcona and Montmorency counties and reaches non-profits who, together, reach many different segments of the population and address a wide variety of needs.

“We don’t have one focus area, we support many services,” said Germaine Stoppa, United Way executive director. “Funds raised during the campaign help thousands of people each year.”

Reaching the goal is a huge accomplishment!
