Virginia Smigelski

She was born in Posen on Aug. 27, 1921 to Anthony and Agnes (Klien) Smolinski.

Virginia was a life-long member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking but her biggest accomplishment was the way she made each person feel when they came to the farm to visit.  She was wise beyond her years.  She accepted and loved each person for who they were and saw the beauty in every day of her 104 years.  Virginia lived through many hardships, yet her faith never wavered.  We are forever grateful for the love she poured into each of us.

She is survived by two sons, James (Lorraine) Smigelski and Jerry (Dawn) Smigelski all of Posen; son-in-law, Bob Salenski of Haslett; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward on Aug. 8, 2006; two daughters, Rose Salenski on Jan. 12, 2017 and Theresa (Ervin “Stork” on Sept. 17, 1999) Szczerowski on June 1, 2021; siblings, Roman, Wallace, Phillip, Florian, Benjaman, Arthur, Genevieve, Sally, Gertrude and Celia.

Mass took place at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Dec. 5.
