Larry Eston Hardin, 83 yrs of Ida, died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, OH. Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. He will lie-in-state on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the services at 11 a.m. at New Life Church, Petersburg, MI. Pastor Josh Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida, MI.
Born Feb. 20, 1942, in Salem, Kentucky. Larry was the son of Jesse and Agnes (Loftis) Hardin. He attended Cooley High School in Detroit and later earned his GED from the US Army and spent two years in trade school at Henry Ford College, Detroit, MI. Larry honorably served with the US Army from Sept. 1959 – Aug. 1962. Larry married Donna Elliot on Feb. 8, 1969, in Taylor, MI. He worked for the Ford Motor Company as a tool and die maker for 24 years, retiring in 1990. Larry was a member of The Trenton Masonic Temple 387, Trenton, MI and the Lions Club, Hillman, MI. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Most of all, he cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed days at his Hillman, MI cabin, and found joy in cycling.
Survivors include; his wife, Donna; children, Michael (Kelli) Hardin, Steven Hardin, David Hardin, Shawn (Anthony) Maviglia, Billie Loree, Christina (Michael) Klein; sister, Marcena Hall; grandchildren, Kelsi, Olivia, Brennan, Jesse, Kasey (Seth Michaels), Zeth, Wyatt, KT (Jordan), Nicholas (Arielle Gamble), Madison (Daniel Sarnowski), Taylor, Alex, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard Hardin.
