LORRAINE A. CODY
Lorraine (Lorrie) A. Cody, 65, of Alpena passed away on May 24, 2022, following a lengthy courageous battle with cancer.
Lorraine was born on Jan. 19, 1957, in French Morocco, Africa, to Patrick and Lorraine (Starkey) Cody. As an Air Force family, they lived in several cities across the states and internationally, but Lorrie spent most of her time living in California before moving to Michigan to be closer to family. Lorrie was very talented and creative. She was artistic, creating artwork in various ways, drawing, sketching, painting, making her beautiful hooked rugs and with colored pencils being her favorite medium. Gardening was another way Lorrie enjoyed spending her time. She also loved cats, especially her most recent adoptions, King Louie and Mr. Gray.
Lorraine is survived by her siblings Pam (Ken) Werth, Janice (Dwight) Beerwinkle, Larry Cody, and Michael Cody, nieces and nephews, Stephen (Jennifer Calery) Werth, Jeff Werth, Jennifer Cody, Adam (Cassandra) Cody, Erica Roselius, Leslie White, great-nephew, Braeden Werth and special friend, Laura Gohl. She was preceded in death by both parents, her infant brother, Patrick William Jr., her sister in-law, Kathy Cody and her longtime cat companion, Roper.
Per her wishes Lorraine has been taken from McWilliams Funeral Home for cremation. A private family gathering is planned for a later time. Memorial contributions can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Alpena. Online condolences can be registered at mcwilliamsfh.com
